The U.S. Open champion, who suffered another early physical problem in the first round at Nottingham last week, is in a race against time to adapt to Wimbledon.

Raducanu, who had only completed seven bouts before quitting, decided not to seek a wild card after saying she might be fit for Eastbourne.

She may choose to play a match at next week’s Giorgio Armani Tennis Classic at Hurlingham Club, but assuming she’s fit, she’ll be heading into her home Grand Slam with very limited grass preparations .

Ryan Peniston and Katie Boulter were rewarded with strong performances at Queen’s and Birmingham respectively this week, with wild cards alongside Harriet Dart, Jodie Burrage, Jack Draper and Jay Clarke.
